About Ruth

Ruth Ellison is a design leader, speaker, facilitator, user researcher and design and user research coach living in Canberra, the capital city of Australia. She is passionate about helping to build and sustain healthy curious teams who work effectively to achieve great outcomes for their organisations, their users and their communities.

Aside from work, Ruth is busy with her young family, exploring and blogging about escape rooms, and slowly adding to her growing collection of robots and indoor plants. Ruth loves to make things with lasers. You can find her latest creations at Crankybot.

Ruth also likes organising stuff – she has helped organise the Canberra Web Standards Group, BarCampCanberra, TEDxCanberra 2010 and TEDxCanberra 2011.

Ruth has also been involved in judging a number of web awards, including the Australian Web Awards and the McFarlane Prize (2010).

This site is a collection of personal thoughts around User Experience (UX) and related topics, interesting gadgets and developments and the occasional topic about being green in a technological world.
