About Ruth

Ruth Ellison is a user experience designer living in Canberra, the capital city of Australia. She is extremely passionate about creating accessible and inclusive user experiences. She is fascinated by the way humans interact with each other and with web and computer systems. Ruth works at Stamford Interactive in Canberra.

When not busy with user experience design and accessibility work, Ruth can be found out and about taking photos, renovating her house (a big slow project) and slowly adding to her growing collection of robots. Ruth loves to make things with lasers. You can find her latest creations at Crankybot.

Ruth also likes organising stuff – she has helped organise the Canberra Web Standards Group, BarCampCanberra, TEDxCanberra 2010 and TEDxCanberra 2011.

Ruth has also been involved in judging a number of web awards, including the Australian Web Awards and the McFarlane Prize (2010).

This site is a collection of personal thoughts around User Experience (UX) and related topics, interesting gadgets and developments and the occasional topic about being green in a technological world.
